krpm should be very easy to install. Since you are reading this documentation I shall assume that you have untarred the krpm*.tgz file and have therefore got a krpm directory. Simply enter this directory and type ./install.sh and krpm should compile and install itself. If compilation fails then check that your system meets the requirements for krpm.

If you are using a RedHat distribution of Linux then most of the requirements should be met. krpm requires the following packages to be installed:

Also, for krpm to work correctly the RPM database must be initialised. If typing `rpm -qa' gives an error about `unable to open....` then try `rpm --rebuilddb'.


Using the kdelnk file

I like to put krpm in the panel. This can be done by choosing `Panel->Add Application->krpm' from the panel menu.
